Farah Khan babies debut

Czar, Diva and Anya will appear during the end credits of Tees Maar Khan

No filmi aspirations, darlings? Farah Khan with Diva, Anya and Czar

Farah Khan's triplets Czar, Anya and Diva will debut with their mom during the end credits of Tees Maar Khan.

The director is sticking to her 'tradition' of having the film's cast and crew appear during the end credits like she did for Main Hoon Naa and Om Shanti Om.

A source reveals, "Farah even had a makeshift nursery built on the sets during the Malshej Ghat schedule so she could spend more time with her babies. As such, they are familiar with everyone from Akshay and Katrina to the spotboys."

Getting the kids to appear in the credits was a special moment for Farah. "On the day of the shoot, the triplets were quite excited but at the same time wanted to get off camera. While Anya and Diva are seen wearing cute dresses, Czar will be seen in a baby tux."

Farah confirms, "Yes, my babies will be seen in the film. They wore formals and refused to do anything. Diva got bored and walked out followed by Czar. Anya looked around, shrugged and went out as well."

Farah Khan's on Twitter

There's a new Khan in Twitter territory, and her name is Farah! The hotshot director/choreographer has finally joined the site, and it's all because of hubby Shirish Kunder. He's the one who announced that Farah had joined up, and as of now he's the only one she's following.

Farah posted on her Twitter page, "Hey I'm overwhelmed! Can hardly keep up with ur response. How sweet u all r!such a warm welcom.promise 2 b correct, but not politically, hahaha."

And the Twitter newbie added later, "Kitne tweets do I hav 2 put everyday? eEnthu cutlet I hav become. Koi roko mujhe bhai."

And the B'wood welcome started soon after.

Riteish Deshmukh posted on his page, "Hey guys a big shout out to Farah Khan- looking fwd to her sense of humour on this platform. AAO THAKURR AAO"

And Karan Johar added, "Ok...introducing one of my oldest friends....the very talented and the super entertaining Farah Khan."

Akki, Salman set to shoot together

Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan are back together again, if only for an item number, in Farah Khan's 'Tees Maar Khan'. And Akki's already excited about it.

"Looking forward to our shoot after so long... Enjoy brother," Akshay wrote to Salman on Twitter.

Akshay plays the lead along with Katrina Kaif in 'Tees Maar Khan' and Salman has a special appearance in a song in the movie.

Akki also congratulated Salman on the success of 'Dabangg'.

"Salman you are in your elements man! You have given everyone a reason to dance this Eid," Akshay posted.

Akshay and Salman have earlier acted together in 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' and 'Jaan-E-Mann: Let's Fall in Love... Again'.

Farah treats Kat to promised cinnabons

Gives Katrina Kaif the sweets she craves in return for staying slender till item song Sheila Ki Jawani was shot.

Farah Khan believes in keeping her artistes happy. She promised her Tees Maar Khan heroine, Katrina Kaif a special treat if she managed to maintain a slender waist for her raunchy number, Sheila Ki Jawani. Yesterday, Khan fulfilled Kat's craving to have Cinnabons.

Says the director, "Katrina has worked extremely hard on the song Sheila Ki Jawani over the last couple of weeks. I had told her I'd give her whatever treat she wanted after the song was done. She wanted Cinnabons so yesterday I got three dozen in assorted flavours on the sets after we packed up. The day before wrap-up, she finished shooting for the song, went for a press endorsement in the evening and then went to the gym at midnight and worked out."

Farah is impressed with Kat's professionalism and dedication. "She had to wear a low waisted, half-saree for the song so for the last two weeks she cut down on carbohydrates, didn't have any sweets, went to the gym regularly and followed a strict diet. She did whatever I told her to do. Now that the song is over, the poor girl can eat to her heart's content. Her performance in this song is going to shock people."

Incidentally, Shah Rukh had gone on a diet and almost starved for Om Shanti Om and Dard-e-Disco. A defensive Farah states, "I don't ask my stars to starve. I just tell them that this is what you have to look like and these are your costume references. Like Madhuri will be remembered for Ek Do Teen, Kat will be remembered for Sheila Ki Jawani. She's looking her best! It is like a tribute to Jumma Chumma from Hum. Akshay is also in the song."

Katrina says, "After pack up, we had a feast (she ate three Cinnabons). I love Cinnabons so I asked Farah if I could have some after the song got over. I have been training with Yasmin Karachiwala for the last 13 days to tone down for the song. We trained on Tuesday night at 12 am. It's not so much about losing weight as toning the abs and body. I have been on a controlled diet which consists mainly of fruit, fish and porridge."

Farah and I are friends: Shahrukh Khan (srkthedon.blogspot.com)

Shah Rukh Khan has cleared the air over a reported rift with choreographer-director Farah Khan, saying that just because he wasn't on her next project didn't mean that they weren't friends.

He wished her luck for her next film Tees Maar Khan, for which she signed on Akshay Kumar instead of Shah Rukh.

"My friendship with all is as it was before, love them the same way. Many times if we are not working with each other doesn't mean that I hate her or end of friendship. I don't take my wife's decision, how could I take others. I want to see everyone doing well.

"When I am shooting with someone, I am more in touch with him. This time I am not in touch with Farah but wish her all the success and hope this film (Tees Maar Khan) becomes a bigger hit than Om Shanti Om, which was her last film. I just hope she become even a bigger producer. Yes, she is a friend of mine. I am not doing a film with her, which doesn't mean I don't love her," said Shah Rukh.

Shah Rukh played the lead role in Farah's last film Om Shanti Om.

Om Shanti Om's end credits inspire American director

Josh Radner, the American television actor of How I Met Your Mother has turned director with his debut film Happythankyoumoreplease. And for his end credits, he has taken inspiration from Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om.

Though Josh has not seen the entire film, he says he was much impressed with the idea of the cast and crew being introduced against the background of a movie premiere, with each of them getting down from a vehicle. He believes it is similar to the tradition of theatre, where the cast return in the end of a play to take curtain calls. Thanks to our own OSO, Josh decided to incorporate this in his film too. Meanwhile, Josh regrets he was unable to watch Peepli Live, which was screened along with his film at the Sundance Film Festival recently.

Akshay is the desi Robin Hood

His role in 'Tees Maar Khan' is inspired by the English hero

Akshay Kumar plays a con man in 'Tees Maar Khan' and director Farah Khan says his role is inspired by English folklore hero Robin Hood.

"In 'Tees Maar Khan', Akshay plays a modern-day extra smart conman, who steals money from the rich and gives it to the poor, someone like Robin Hood," Farah said.

"Around 50 to 55 percent of the film is complete and we plan to finish shooting by September. Like always, in this film also you will see a mix of action, comedy and emotions."

This is Farah's third film after 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Om Shanti Om', but the first one without Shah Rukh Khan who played the main lead in both her previous movies.

Apart from Akshay, 'Tees Maar Khan' also stars Katrina Kaif, Akshaye Khanna, Arya Babbar, Aman Verma and Ali Asgar.

In 'Tees Maar Khan', Akshay will be seen sporting an Indian Muslim look. Designer Aki Narula has worked on his costumes alongside an international team of make-up artists and hairdressers.

Apart from the movie, Farah's been busy on the judge's seat on Zee TV’s dance reality show 'Dance India Dance Li’l Masters', where she will be seen judging kids aged 5-14 years old.

"I am a reality show junkie. I enjoy judging because these shows make us realise that there is so much talent here. I feel reality shows are a great platform as it gives great exposure as well as recognition to individuals. As a judge I'll try not to be harsh to the kids," said Farah who was in New Delhi to promote the show.

When asked what does she think of the government guidelines that children under a certain age should not be a part of reality shows, Farah said: "If these kids are not brought forward how will we get to know they are so talented.

"I feel it depends upon the parents how they mould their children, whether they turn out to be aggressive or take the competition in a healthy way."

Asin refuses Farah’s film

Usually, Farah Khan gets what she wants. From shooting Chale Jaise Hawaein in Main Hoon Na in only one un-interrupted sequence to uniting the who’s who of Bollywood in Deewangi Deewangi in Om Shanti Om. Now, Asin has broken her track record.

Farah Khan and Asin got friendly when she appeared on Farah’s chat show, Tere Mere Beach Mein, and have been in touch ever since. Asin has proved her mettle as an actress in Ghajini and her South Indian films and has a big release coming up in the form of London Dreams. She has an Indo-international martial arts film and her endorsement contracts.

A source tells us, ‘Farah thought Asin was a suitable choice for the female lead in Happy New Year and approached her for the role, but Asin politely turned her down citing date issues. Asin’s behaviour is quite odd considering she was keen on working with SRK, and when the opportunity knocked on her door, she turned it down. It’s not that she didn’t have good role because in Farah’s films, the actresses have as much of a role as the heroes. Deepika had a double role in OSO and Main Hoon Na redefined Amrita Rao and Sushmita Sen’s careers and is the most memorable film of their careers. There is a huge market for Farah Khan’s masala films as OSO is one of the biggest hits of all time and Main Hoon Na did really well too.’

He further adds, ‘Happy New Year will go on the floors by the end of this year and doing the film would have helped Asin gain entry into SRK’s powerful camp. She isn’t even friends with Salman Khan any more. When established actresses are keen on working with Farah Khan, it is bizarre why she turned down the film when she was the first choice for it. In India there isn’t really a market for martial arts films. Look at how Drona, CC2C and Asoka have fared. Rubbing Farah Khan the wrong way is professional hara-kiri, especially for a newcomer.’

Let us hope Asin realizes that she will lose out on a very important opportunity if she turns down the film and it would be wise to cancel her other assignments to make time for Farah’s film. If she doesn’t do Happy New Year, it will be another feather in the hat of Kareena, Deepika or Priyanka.

Farah 'booked' by brave twins

Farah Khan, one of the judges on Entertainment Ke Liye Aur Bhi Kuch Karega, broke down after seeing the kathak performance of Tejaswini and Sanjeevani Kalghatgi.

Before they started their performance, the mother of the 20-year-old mentally challenged twins requested judges to treat them like any other contestant and to press the hooter (to stop the act) if they did not like it.

But the performance of the twins suffering from Down syndrome was so touching and precise that Farah was moved to tears.

She promised to donate her collection of books to the library which the girls run for a living. The episode airs tonight.

Saif not flamboyant in real life: Kareena Kapoor

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, who doesn't like to make her private life public, has opened up about beau Saif Ali Khan and says he is not as flamboyant in real life as he looks on screen.

"Saif is very different (from his on screen image). On screen I think he is very flamboyant, but in real life he is very understated and relaxed," said Kareena.

"He is very classy but he has an amazing charm about himself, an inherent charm which can be seen on screen. And I think that is what's there with him personally also," she told choreographer-director Farah Khan on STAR Plus' chat show "Tere Mere Beach Mein".

The episode featuring Kareena will be aired Saturday at 9 p.m.

Big B not part of Farah Khan's next film

Only Shah Rukh finalised for ‘Happy New Year’

Farah Khan has put to rest the rumours about Amitabh Bachchan being a part of her next film, “Happy New Year”.

She has said that as of now only Shah Rukh and she are in the movie. She also said that she does not finalise anyone except Shah Rukh before the entire scripting is done.

The movie is still in the scripting stage and is expected to go on floors later this year.

Farah will re-start the work on “Happy New Year” once she is finished with the schedules of her chat show “Tere Mere Beach Mein”.

Farah had earlier reported that she will bring SRK and Big B together in the movie and try to end the cold war between the two.

Farah also denied reports that Juhi Chawla, Zayed Khan and Sanjay Dutt were part of the movie.

Farah Khan loves TV

She says 90 per cent of her popularity is because of TV

Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan, who hosts celebrity chat show Tere Mere Beach Mein, says she owes 90 per cent of her popularity to the small screen.

"Small screen is not small any longer. I think it's a larger medium than cinema because even though a village may not have a cinema hall, the people might still have a TV set. I think if I have become a popular figure, it’s almost 90 per cent because of my presence on television," said Farah.

The filmmaker, who has directed movies like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, says although she enjoys working for TV, she doesn't like getting decked up for it.

"I really enjoy television. The only part I don't enjoy is doing my make-up and hair and sitting for hours and I also don't like looking fat on TV. Other than that, I like everything about it," she said.

Farah was earlier seen as a judge on shows like Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa and Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.

Celebs get nasty with Farah

Farah Khan sure has a knack for digging out the dirt from our politically correct actors and actresses.

The talk show host has had probably the best responses from her guests who bear it all on her show Tere Mere Beach Mein. Good friend and director Karan Johar who by the way was the first host to cause quite a stir in B-town was at his catty best on Farah’s show.

Everyone knows about the Karan Johar-RamGopal Varma feud and how both of them can’t stand each other’s style of filmmaking. So when Farah asked Karan whether he would like to eat junk food with Shah Rukh or diet biscuits with Ramu, Karan bared his claws and said, ‘I would rather have diet biscuits with Ramu because Ramu has stopped making cinema, atleast he can make diet biscuits.’

This comes right after Ramu in a recent interview said that family dramas should stay in the family and not on screen. Sources even say, Kangna Ranaut who will also be seen in a later episode on the show, told Farah that she was sick of being nagged by directors to look sweet and innocent like Rani Mukherjee and have a dimple like Preity Zinta.

But not everyone’s as nasty, recently latest Kamina on the block Shahid Kapur revealed his secret crush and dream co-star of all time, Madhuri Dixit. He is told to have said, ‘There wouldn’t be any mobile phones those days, so I’d get a lot of time to flirt with all the heroines. I would flirt with all of them.. thoda thoda,’ ‘And a little extra with Madhuri,’ asked Farah. ‘Yes, much more with Madhuri,’ responded Shahid.

Seems like Farah Khan is soon going to topple Karan Johar from his best talk show host throne and we hope Kjo doesn’t bare his claws again, what say?

Shahid wants to flirt with Mads

Looks like Bollywood’s latest star on the block Shahid Kapoor has a Madhuri hangover. Asked by chat show host Farah Khan which heroine he would pick for his dream project — Sridevi, Rekha, Madhuri Dixit or Zeenat Aman — he didn’t waste a moment in rooting for Madhuri!

Out of the heroes — Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra and Vinod Khanna — it was Amitji he wanted. The film, set in the 70s, according to the mock discussion on the show Tere Mere Beach Mein, would be directed by Nasser Hussain, and shot in Kashmir, starring villain Ranjit ‘the rape specialist’ and Shahid himself handling the romantic portions.

“There wouldn’t be any mobile phones those days, so I’d get a lot of time to flirt with all the heroines. I would flirt with all of them.. thoda thoda,” said Shahid. “And a little extra with Madhuri,” asked farah. “Yes, much more with Madhuri,” responded Shahid.

He added, “I would also ask for a longer lunch break so that I can more time to flirt.”

Shahid gets candid on TV show

Shares stories from his struggling days with host Farah Khan

The success of "Kaminey" has catapulted him into the big league, but actor Shahid Kapur says he sat at home for six months without any work after his box office hit "Vivaah" in 2006.

"The most difficult phase was after 'Vivaah' was a super hit. I was at home for six months without work. I got some 60 film offers but none inspired me," Shahid told choreographer-director Farah Khan on STAR Plus' chat show "Tere Mere Beach Mein".

On the show, the actor spoke of losing his confidence after a spate of failures following his debut film "Ishq Vishk".

He even shared how apprehensive and nervous he was when he had begun shooting for "Vivaah", but gained a little confidence after director Sooraj Barjatya gave him a pep talk saying: "There's only one thing that can take you ahead and that's talent and you have that in you!"

"I was unconvinced and gave one shot, then I saw it on the monitor and I said, 'I've given a perfect shot...I know my work.' After that I used to just focus on my work."

The episode featuring Shahid will be aired on Saturday (Sept 5) at 9 pm. Also on the show with him will be Genelia D’Souza.
