Salman-Katrina’s dance drama

We’re going ‘Walla Walla’ after watching Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar in their Qawali number for Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’. The song has Sallu and Akki in a pretend-fight over Kat (hmm…imagine that!).

The real question is – Were Salman and Katrina fighting during the shooting? Nothing of that sort it seems. Apparently the couple (or former couple) were fairly cordial to one another and had fun while shooting the song (thanks to buffers Akshay and Farah maybe).

While Salman and Akki were dressed in colourful vests, scarves and caps; Kat made for a rather sober picture, considering she plays an item girl in the movie.

First look of 'Tees Maar Khan'

Check out the first look of Farah Khan’s 'Tees Maar Khan' starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. It's a cool looking poster - a silhouette of Akshay Kumar fleeing the scene. Akshay plays a sleek and stylish conman in the movie.

Says a trade source, “The poster of Tees Maar Khan is on the lines of Hollywood’s 'The Mask' and other such entertainers. And then again it has 2 genres – action and comedy.”

'Tees Maar Khan also has a deep festive connection. The shoot of the film took off around Holi and ended on Ganesh Chaturthi and Eid. Meanwhile, the promo of the film will hit theatre screens around Diwali and the film releases Christmas Eve.

So will all these factors traslate into a blockbuster for Farah Khan? We'll have to wait and watch.

Akki, Salman set to shoot together

Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan are back together again, if only for an item number, in Farah Khan's 'Tees Maar Khan'. And Akki's already excited about it.

"Looking forward to our shoot after so long... Enjoy brother," Akshay wrote to Salman on Twitter.

Akshay plays the lead along with Katrina Kaif in 'Tees Maar Khan' and Salman has a special appearance in a song in the movie.

Akki also congratulated Salman on the success of 'Dabangg'.

"Salman you are in your elements man! You have given everyone a reason to dance this Eid," Akshay posted.

Akshay and Salman have earlier acted together in 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' and 'Jaan-E-Mann: Let's Fall in Love... Again'.

Katrina's the new 'Jumma Chumma' girl

Katrina Kaif is going all out in her item number avatar for Farah Khan's 'Tees Maar Khan'. First there was the song 'Sheila Ki Jawani', where Kat's going to be belly dancing a la Shakira. And now we've found out that she's also going to dance to the iconic 'Jumma Chumma De De' number in the movie. The original song is from the movie 'Hum' and was picturised on Amitabh Bachchan and Kimi Katkar.

Director/choreographer Farah Khan promises that the new 'Jumma Chumma' is going to be a jaw dropper, and adds, “This song will be the highlight of my film.”

And Katrina has worked hard on her look, and more so her body, for the song. Kat said, “ I haven’t worked harder on my body than I have for this song. When Farah told me that I had to expose my full stomach, provocatively, right down to the hip line, I knew that I had to have the best body in the business.”

Adds a source “Katrina Kaif plays an item girl in the film so it was only natural to have an item number of this sort - Katrina grooves to the song as men cheer on.”

'Tees Maar Khan' also stars Akshay Kumar in the lead and releases this December.

Farah treats Kat to promised cinnabons

Gives Katrina Kaif the sweets she craves in return for staying slender till item song Sheila Ki Jawani was shot.

Farah Khan believes in keeping her artistes happy. She promised her Tees Maar Khan heroine, Katrina Kaif a special treat if she managed to maintain a slender waist for her raunchy number, Sheila Ki Jawani. Yesterday, Khan fulfilled Kat's craving to have Cinnabons.

Says the director, "Katrina has worked extremely hard on the song Sheila Ki Jawani over the last couple of weeks. I had told her I'd give her whatever treat she wanted after the song was done. She wanted Cinnabons so yesterday I got three dozen in assorted flavours on the sets after we packed up. The day before wrap-up, she finished shooting for the song, went for a press endorsement in the evening and then went to the gym at midnight and worked out."

Farah is impressed with Kat's professionalism and dedication. "She had to wear a low waisted, half-saree for the song so for the last two weeks she cut down on carbohydrates, didn't have any sweets, went to the gym regularly and followed a strict diet. She did whatever I told her to do. Now that the song is over, the poor girl can eat to her heart's content. Her performance in this song is going to shock people."

Incidentally, Shah Rukh had gone on a diet and almost starved for Om Shanti Om and Dard-e-Disco. A defensive Farah states, "I don't ask my stars to starve. I just tell them that this is what you have to look like and these are your costume references. Like Madhuri will be remembered for Ek Do Teen, Kat will be remembered for Sheila Ki Jawani. She's looking her best! It is like a tribute to Jumma Chumma from Hum. Akshay is also in the song."

Katrina says, "After pack up, we had a feast (she ate three Cinnabons). I love Cinnabons so I asked Farah if I could have some after the song got over. I have been training with Yasmin Karachiwala for the last 13 days to tone down for the song. We trained on Tuesday night at 12 am. It's not so much about losing weight as toning the abs and body. I have been on a controlled diet which consists mainly of fruit, fish and porridge."

Katrina's item girl avatar revealed

We never thought we'd hear Katrina Kaif dancing to a song called 'Sheela Ki Jawani' (we kid you not!) but trust choregrapher and director Farah Khan to pull it off.

Farah's next 'Tees Maar Khan' will have heroine Kat giving Shakira a run for her money in this number. Think lots of belly dancing, for which Farah has even flown down one of the world’s most renowned trainers from Brazil.

Farah says about the song, “You will see Katrina in an all new avatar. She has never looked this hot.” So Katrina's going to be revealing her 'item number' side, and she's making sure she's in perfect shape for it.

It seems that Kat, who is currently shooting in Spain, is working hard on her physique and following to a special diet for the song.

Reveals a production source “Farah is known for creating iconic film songs. She revealed Shah Rukh Khan’s six packs in Dard-E-Disco and this time round she is going to show audiences Katrina's hot side."

We'll have to wait to check out the song but we've got pictures of Kat in the movie for now. Think she's sizzling enough?

Akshay is the desi Robin Hood

His role in 'Tees Maar Khan' is inspired by the English hero

Akshay Kumar plays a con man in 'Tees Maar Khan' and director Farah Khan says his role is inspired by English folklore hero Robin Hood.

"In 'Tees Maar Khan', Akshay plays a modern-day extra smart conman, who steals money from the rich and gives it to the poor, someone like Robin Hood," Farah said.

"Around 50 to 55 percent of the film is complete and we plan to finish shooting by September. Like always, in this film also you will see a mix of action, comedy and emotions."

This is Farah's third film after 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Om Shanti Om', but the first one without Shah Rukh Khan who played the main lead in both her previous movies.

Apart from Akshay, 'Tees Maar Khan' also stars Katrina Kaif, Akshaye Khanna, Arya Babbar, Aman Verma and Ali Asgar.

In 'Tees Maar Khan', Akshay will be seen sporting an Indian Muslim look. Designer Aki Narula has worked on his costumes alongside an international team of make-up artists and hairdressers.

Apart from the movie, Farah's been busy on the judge's seat on Zee TV’s dance reality show 'Dance India Dance Li’l Masters', where she will be seen judging kids aged 5-14 years old.

"I am a reality show junkie. I enjoy judging because these shows make us realise that there is so much talent here. I feel reality shows are a great platform as it gives great exposure as well as recognition to individuals. As a judge I'll try not to be harsh to the kids," said Farah who was in New Delhi to promote the show.

When asked what does she think of the government guidelines that children under a certain age should not be a part of reality shows, Farah said: "If these kids are not brought forward how will we get to know they are so talented.

"I feel it depends upon the parents how they mould their children, whether they turn out to be aggressive or take the competition in a healthy way."
