It seems Twitter is too much a temptation to resist and that too for the celebrities across the world who are joining this social networking fraternity. Bollywood Actor Shah Rukh Khan is the recent inclusion in the Twitter family as the superstar made his tweeting debut on Saturday from his Twitter id @iamsrk.

It was a real surprise for the King Khan fans as he tweeted for the first time. His first tweet reads, "hi everyone. being extremely shy i never thought i would be here. but my friend @kjohar25 insisted that i should learn to share my life." Karan Johar, one of the most popular directors in Bollywood and a close friend of SRK is an ardent twitterer and a much experienced one than the debutant. It was Karan Johar who for the first time notified the tweeple about Shah Rukh Khan joining Twitter. SRK's admirer and the ruling Bollywood actress Priyanaka Chopra was soon to respond as she tweets, "Pls welcome my most favorite actor ever..SRK @iamsrk !! So glad ure here!! Show some love twitterverse!!".

She was followed by actress Genelia D'Souza who gave a warm welcome to SRK as she says, "..wat a lovely mrng to wake up n c shahrukh on twitter.. Welcome shahrukh @iamsrk : )" The King Khan, with his usual modesty conveyed his wishes to the tweeple and added that he didn't expect such a warm welcome from all. In less than 12 hours the master actor has got close to 7000 followers under his belt and his follower count is growing evidently fast. His presence on twitter seems to be a motivation for the tweeple as one of them admits, "yipeeeeee finally some motivation to be regular on Twitter". While some of the Shah Rukh fans gave "king size welcome" to twitterverse, some of them went on to approach the actor with their promotional plans. One of the twitterers have rightly kept his fingers crossed as he contemplated "how fast the followers of @iamsrk climb up ... will it break ur record @priyankachopra @ShashiTharooor".

Apart from showering love on SRK, his demanding fans have already started asking him for a nice profile pic and replying to their tweets. The actor must be having some engaging sessions interacting with his followers and meeting their demands.

Who is the latest Bollywood celeb to tweet?

The Twitter bug has bit many celebrities in tinsel town and the latest entrant is Riteish Deshmukh. The actor says it was filmmaker Karan Johar who asked him to join the popular social networking site.

"Karan Johar asked me to get on to Twitter. I didn't know a thing about it. I asked him how to go about it. He just told me that it's a wonderful thing and once I open my account, I'll understand how to operate it," Riteish told IANS.

Celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Celina Jaitley, Karan Johar, Dino Morea, Imran Khan and Gul Panag are among those who have been twittering and connecting with their fans.

She is planning to launch her official website by the end of the year, but Katrina Kaif denies being on the social networking site Twitter and says someone has been impersonating her.

"Something has to be done to stop this sort of vandalism. I am not on Twitter or any other social networking website. I plan to start my own website by the end of the year," Katrina told IANS.

Katrina doesn't believe in half-measures. It comes as no surprise to know that she intends to start her own website after months of research, preparation and build-up before the internet's most 'hit' girl delves deeply into her own domain.

"I don't want this to be something I start and then leave to others to take care of. Of course, there will be professionals employed to oversee my website. But I'll pick and choose all the material and pictures that will on the site," said the actress.

Katrina's website will be called katrinakaifofficial.com and the actress wants it to be a one-stop all-purpose stopover for all her fans.

"My website will be comprehensive. It will have my exclusive pictures. In fact, I'll be doing photo sessions done specially by me. It will also have pictures taken by me on my sets and on location."

But the website won't carry reports on her day-to-day activities.

"I don't think it's cool to let people know where I am or what I'm doing throughout the day. I'm not on any of the social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. I guess my life is not an open Facebook," she puns.

The design, colours and format for her website are ready. It has been designed by her sister's boyfriend and two professional designers from Britain.

"I looked at several designs presented to me. Then I saw a British actress' website which I quite liked, though it was too dark for my personality. My website will be fun, feisty, bubbly and colourful, to go with my image.

"There's nothing haphazard and everything official about it," she said.

Ash is one of a kind: Mallika

Mallika Sherawat may be seen in all the right places these days, but she sure remembers to give credit where it’s due.

Complimenting her on a social networking site on her high-profile outings, a fan wrote, “Mallika, you sure are making waves ... and we all thought Ash will be doing it.”

Mallika promptly replied, “Thanks, but Ash makes waves all her own. She’s one of a kind!”

She recently became the first Bollywood star to be bestowed with an Honorary Citizenship and Official Resolution by the City of Los Angeles. Mallika received the honour during a ceremony at Los Angeles City Hall on the eve of the Indian Independence Day.

The “humbled” actor expressed, “First Indian actor to get a "recognition" by City of LA. Not bad, eh?” and updated, “Big day tomorrow! LA City Hall. History will be made ... You'll b happy to know I'm wearing a suit! Dolce and Gabbana, of course!”

Earlier, she wrote, “OMG! The City of Los Angeles just gave me the honour of a Resolution in my name ... What a day! Janmashtami! Indian Independence Day! Jai!”

Mallika, who is also making waves in her snake avatar in Hissss, joked, “I look hotter as a Sssnake than as a human? Should I just get the operation then?”

‘Kaminey’ is Priyanka’s third hit in a row

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is on cloud nine after scoring a hat-trick with her latest release "Kaminey".

"Thank you guys (audiences) for your positivity on 'Kaminey'! And yes... it is a hat-trick… Yay," elated Priyanka posted on her Twitter page.

The 27-year-old has delivered three hits in a row - first she wowed the audience with her power-packed performance as an ambitious model in Madhur Bhandarkar's "Fashion", then as a chic girl in Tarun Mansukhani's "Dostana" and now as a typical Maharashtrian girl in "Kaminey", a dark thriller by Vishal Bharadwaj.

In her next "What's Your Rashee", she will be seen essaying 12 different roles - arguably no other actor has attempted. Priyanka is also busy shooting for Yash Raj Films' "Pyaar Impossible", in which she stars opposite Uday Chopra.

Actress upset with her fake profiles

Asin Thottumkal has a serious problem - she has impersonators on all major social networking websites. Setting the record straight, the actress says that other than her own blog, she is neither on Twitter nor Facebook.

"I was ready to overlook these fake IDs using my name as long as they weren't harmful. But now the problem is getting out of hand," Asin, who made it big in Hindi films with "Ghajini", told IANS.

The other night a colleague had a whole long conversation with 'Asin' and called up the next day to share her excitement about the intimate conversation they had.

"I nearly fell off my chair. I won't name this actress. But she said we shared our most intimate secrets on Facebook. I nearly fell of my chair and asked her whom did she share her secrets with because it was most certainly not me.

"Two days ago a journalist came to interview me and said she got all the information on me from what I had written on Twitter. For the record, I'm not on any of the social networking websites. Apart from my own website, I'm not on the internet for any other purpose. I started blogging even before Aamir Khan did in August 2005," said Asin.

"I was clubbed with Chetan Bhagat and Shashi Tharoor and put on a social networking website. But I'm not on Orkut, Facebook or Twitter. Apparently there are lots of fake profiles," she added.

Asin is also upset with false reports that she relishes meat despite the fact that she is a vegetarian.

"Its been ages since I have had non-vegetarian food. For all practical purposes, I'm a vegetarian. But I read this horrible report about how I love all kinds of exotic meats. I haven't been approached by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). But that doesn't mean I've to go the other way," she said.

Priyanka’s fainting spells

Priyanka Chopra is at the top of the Bollywood heap right now with back-to-back hits like Fashion and Dostana, more than 10 awards and the highly anticipated Kaminey. But is her health at the bottom of her priority list?

She looked ravishing at the press conference of Kaminey held on Thursday at suburban multiplex Cinemax. The make up was bright, the heels were high and the Herve Leger dress showed off her shapely frame. Though we wondered how she was managing to breathe in it. An eye witness said, “Priyanka was standing at the PC because of her antibiotics, pain killers and will power. When the event was done, she walked out and collapsed.”

This isn’t the first time she has fainted. A few months ago she was hospitalized for a stomach ailment and also suffered a relapse of it a few weeks ago. She was unwell while shooting for ‘What’s Your Raashee?’ and Ashutosh Gowariker had to cancel the shooting of the film. Most recently, she had viral fever and the shoot of Pyaar Impossible had to be cancelled. She wrote on her Twitter page, “Down with the flu or viral or some such thing that is making me miserable. Ugh! I hate being sick! Had to cancel shoot! Guilty.”

Yet her weak health didn’t deter from flying off to Kuala Lumpur for a three day shoot. Her latest post reads, “Hey ma peeps.. In kuala lumpur for a new commercial.. Hope u guys will end up liking the campaign.. Can't tell u what it is yet but soon”

Priyanka hasn’t taken a holiday in ages. In a previous interview, she told SBO, that she has been working non-stop for a year. The Punjabi kudi loves eating and has a high metabolism which allows her to chomp on her favourite fattening foods and not gain an ounce of weight. So lack of nutrition isn’t a problem. All she needs is some time off where she rests and pampers herself. She needs to slow down. While she is at it, there is no need for her to worry about her career because she has proved she is a bankable star and a talented actor. Kareena Kapoor took a break for a year and when she bounced with an item song and Jab We Met, she became the talk of the town and reinstated her superstar status. Yes, she could also buy dresses that allow her to breathe.

Priyanka's down with viral attack

First it was an eye infection that was troubling Priyanka Chopra. Now the actress is afflicted with to attack of viral flu. As a result the shoot of Pyaar Impossible has been cancelled. Sources reveal that along with their leading lady, a couple of character artistes and unit members are feeling under the weather, too.

PC is feeling bad about the canceling the shoot. She writes on her space on the web, "Down with the flu or viral or some such thing that is making me miserable.Ugh! I hate being sick! Had to cancel shoot. Guilty." Her co-star Uday Chopra responds, "Day off from shoot today..the indestructible PC has fallen ill... but I''m sure she will bounce back we don't call her "supergirl" for nothing."

A source from the sets reveals, "This is the last schedule for the film and Monday was supposed to be the last day of shoot. However, with PC being ill, they have pushed the shoot by a day and are hoping she springs back on her faat and is well enough to shoot. She was needed on the set on last day s it was an important scene. They could not do with a body double, hence they have decided to wait till she gets well."

PC's friend and filmmaker Karan Johar too has been feeling unwell. KJo wrote on his Twitter page, "feeling slightly under the weather today... all the work catching up... need to take a day off and sleep."

Mallika Sherawat wants to be part of an Indian Charlie's Angels

Mallika Sherawat wants someone to make a desi version of Charlie's Angles starring herself, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu. She is so excited about the idea of this film that she is even endorsing a petition about it on her twitter page.

The actress got the idea of this film when a inquisitive fan posted on her twitter page asking if she would ever consider being a part of a film like this. The actress was really kicked about the idea and expressed her excitement about doing such a project.

For some time now Mallika has been busy tweeting about this imaginary film idea and asking her followers on the social networking to sign up on the petition. So far there have been only 36 signatories who have shown their excitement about a project like this.

Before Priyanka it was Mallika Sherawat who was leading the pack with around 8,000 followers, but Priyanka has now claimed the top spot. A source close to the actress reveals Priyanka's Twitter fixation.

"She's very net savvy and a gadget freak. In fact she was very active on Facebook and when she logged on Twitter, she got hooked on to it.

For her it's the best way to directly interact with fans around the world. She takes time to read each and every message sent to her and replies back as and when she can."

It's not just posting messages, but also taking pictures thats got Priyanka hooked. "Recently she was at a press conference and she went on stage and took a picture of the entire media in front of her.

Then she also took a picture with her mom and brother. This is a chance for her fans to take a sneak peek into her personal life," added the source

Mallika Sherawat visits Twitter HQ

"Mallika, the temperature and glamour quotient at Twitter has gone way up," is what the CEO of Twitter, Evan Williams, exclaimed as the Bollywood siren arrived at the Twitter HQ in San Francisco recently.

Mallika arrived in a stretch limousine, with fans and media channels waiting outside for her.

"I'm honoured to be the first Asian star to be invited to Twitter. Jai Ho," gushed an excited Mallika.

Mallika greeted fans, signed autographs and posed for pictures outside Twitter's headquarters and then gave some inspirational remarks to Twitter employees during the lunch break.

At the request of a Twitter executive, Mallika even showed the employees a few Bollywood dance moves, and then the whole company joined in for the jhatka-matkas, prompting a spontaneous company dance party.

The promo of Mallika's forthcoming film “Hisss” was also shown to the Twitter employees during their lunch break.
A coconut was broken by her producers in front of the Twitter office.

Sherawat is expected to soon hit the silver screen in the film “Hisss”, directed by Hollywood filmmaker Jennifer Lynch (daughter of David Lynch), in which she plays a snake woman.

Meanwhile, word is that San Francisco's District Attorney Kamala Harris has served as inspiration for a film about to hit production this summer in Los Angeles starring Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat.

Twitter removes Shahid Kapur’s impersonator

Person had managed quite a following

In a first of its kind action in India, Twitter has removed a fake ID of Shahid Kapur, on grounds of impersonation. This came about after Shahid’s publicist registered a complaint with Twitter for impersonation.

Since the last few months a fan had created a fake account through which he connected with Shahid’s fans and pretended to be the actor.
A lot of people believed that it was the actor himself.

His fake profile grew from strength to strength, with followers adding him to get his status updates. The impersonator, on his part, would discuss his upcoming film and his poll wins etc, whatever was in the news about Shahid on any particular day.

The complaint to Twitter was made when the fan refused to part with the ID and continued to pretend to be the actor. Twitter responded within a week and disabled the fake account, taking a strong stand against impersonation.

Mallika Sherawat to visit Twitter Headquarters in San Francisco

Trust Mallika Sherawat to take us by surprise every time! She is the first Indian star to be invited to visit Twitter headquarters in San Francisco, California.

The sexy siren has a popular Bollywood presence on Twitter via her page '@MallikaLA'. She is also apparently one of the most 'followed' Bollywood celebrities on Twitter with more than 2500 fans keen on knowing what the sexy actress is up to.

Mallika will be visiting the Twitter headquarters on July 14 where she'll greet her fans, tour the Twitter office and give inspirational remarks to Twitter employees during their lunch break. Mallika has been using Twitter to keep in touch with fans and document her experiences in Hollywood.

Sherawat, who since arriving in Hollywood has garnered awards, celebrity friends and even a Hollywood milkshake named after her, decided to join the Twittering class as a way to keep in touch with fans back home in India. "One of the hard things about spending time in the U.S. was being so far away from my fans in India," she said. By "tweeting" her experiences in the States, Mallika says she "hopes to also further the connection between Hollywood and Bollywood."

The actress has been regularly posting messages on her experiences in Hollywood, along with giving some tips to men on how to impress women! "It can be fun, and can connect people. And when people are connected, amazing things can happen," she quips.

Sherawat's upcoming film Hissss directed by renowned Hollywood director Jennifer Lynch and co-starring Irrfan Khan is currently in post-production stage and is the first Bollywood film to be represented by a major Hollywood agency (William Morris Endeavor).

In October, Sherawat will begin production on a new film in which she will be playing a character inspired by San Francisco Attorney General - Kamala Harris.

Rakhi Sawant has joined the bandwagon of celebrities who have caught the Twitter bug.

In a bid to promote her ongoing reality show ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’, through which she will find her life partner, the item girl has taken to Twitter to share her day-to-day experiences on the show being shot at Udaipur's Fateh Garh Palace, revealed a source from the show.

One of her posts read: "Nervous hoon..excited bhi... zindagi ki nayi shuruwat hai (I'm nervous but also excited. It's a new beginning in life for me)".

The Twitter page of the actor, who has also done cameos in films like ‘Main Hoon Na’ and done item numbers in films like ‘Krazzy 4’ and ‘1920’, can be found on www.twitter.com/rakhisawant.

The latest updates by Rakhi include details about the proceedings in her shows and about how much she hates breaking the contestants' heart. Right!

Mallika's Twitter-mad in LA

Mallika Sherawat's in Los Angeles to finish her work on the serpent movie Hissss, and she's become an incorrigible Twit. No, Twitter. Sorry, make that Tweeter.

That's the name used for those who post SMS-sized messages on the twitter.com site. Mallika's feed is called twitter.com/mallikaLA. The last two initials indicate where she is and so she might as well stop after returning next month.

For now, however, she's blasting away the messages sending them from her computer and from her mobile phone.

What's she been talking about? The fact that Ram Gopal Varma called her the Marilyn Monroe of the East (er, didn't Marilyn have big hits to her name?) and that Farah Khan gave her a statue of the Buddha.

There are plenty of updates of her yoga routine. Alas, Mallika omits to put in too much physical detail. Mallika describes herself as a Vegan, which means someone who is not just vegetarian but also does not have milk or milk products.

The actress went on Salman's Dus Ka Dum over the weekend and says he asked her why she was single. Her reply? "Hmmmm, good question!". Right.

And who's Mallika following in turn? Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey and David Lynch. Lynch is the Hollywood director of such movies as Mulholland Drive. His daughter Jennifer is the director of Hissss, the movie on whose coattails Mallika hopes to become an international star like Frieda Pinto with the world's press following her antics.
