Amitabh Bachchan’s bald look in Balki’s Pa may have stunned his fans.

However, when the actor was recently shooting for the film — that also stars son Abhishek and Vidya Balan — in Malaysia, he happened to become the object of amusement of several Malaysian and Indian kids who were present as part of the shoot. A source from the unit revealed, “Mr Bachchan was relaxing in between the shots. But instead of retiring to the van, he chose to sit outside itself, and that’s when the kids, fascinated by his head couldn’t resist touching it. Some were bold enough to even tap him several times, not knowing who he is. But instead of losing his cool, Bachchan, too, seemed to be enjoying it immensely and sat laughing.” Well, we guess, the grandfatherly instinct in the actor just can’t help but surface, when Pa is around kids. And the kids are certainly not complaining.

Bald 'pa' Amitabh give fans the miss!

Amitabh Bachchan’s new look in Pa has proved to be handy in more ways than one.

It gives him some anonymity, as fans do not recognise him anymore beneath layers of make-up. This is not such good news for the fans though, who wait eagerly to catch a glimpse of their favourite star.

An incident occurred while the unit was shooting in a school in Kuala Lumpur that proved it. Our source said, “Some locals and Indians got to know that Amitabh Bachchan was shooting there. Within no time, word spread and lots of people showed up on the sets. They wandered all over but just could not spot Amitabh Bachchan.

Some waited endlessly, others returned frustrated and dejected. However, they could not indentify him because of his look in the film. Some of them even cursed the unit for spreading false rumours about Mr Bachchan shooting, when there was only one bald old man and some kids shooting.”
Pas director Balki confirmed the story, “Yes, it’s true. Fans of Amitabh came rushing when they heard he was shooting in a school nearby. The fans stayed for two hours, loitered, went around him and went away complaining that there was no Amitabh. They just couldn’t recognise him.”

Bachchans secretly shooting in Delhi

It’s the beta who’s older, actually, in the movie that was being shot in Delhi yesterday.

Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan continued shooting for Pa in Delhi, amid tight security – and secrecy. Amitabh is playing a bald man in the scenes that were being shot in Delhi, and every measure was taken to ensure that he was not visible to onlookers.

He was to come to Dwarka Sector 9 Metro station to shoot, but was dropped mid-way at Tagore Garden Metro Station. The shots were taken on the train, in the stations, and AB returned without being seen. Even elsewhere, Amitabh would only appear with his head covered. A source from the unit says that his make-up started at 2 am and went on till the early hours of the morning.

AB & AB Baby in Delhi

Abhishek and his pa, Amitabh Bachchan, were shooting in Delhi for the movie Pa yesterday.

They started shooting at Rajpath early in the morning, and moved from there to the Metro station at Dwarka Sector 9. According to sources in the unit, a Metro train had been hired for the shoot. It would stop at a few stations, take the shots from there and come back. They had permission till 1 pm to shoot.

Vidya Balan, who’s also part of the cast, was shooting with them. Abhishek was in a blue shirt and a waistcoat, and Amitabh was in character as a bald man, which is what his role in the film demands.
