‘We fell in love over time’
Recently married Manisha Koirala admits that it wasn’t love at first sight for her, but also adds that she’s very much in love now.
She admits that it wasn’t love at first sight. “We fell in love after several meeting. It didn’t happen overnight. As we got to know each other, we started spending more time together and somewhere in the middle, things clicked and we fell in love, “ she says.
Not even married for 15 days, but she admits that she has already made herself at home in her husband’s home. “We have a lot in common, especially travelling. We have plans to go to Paris, Barcelona and Genoa ,” says the new Mrs. Dahal.
Although she admits that she is a good cook, she shares the little fact that her husband loves cooking as well. “We make various dishes for each other. Both of search for new and exotic recipes that we make for each other. It’s a blessing that my husband is a wonderful chef,” she laughs.
We wish the newlyweds all the best.
Manisha Koirala gets married
Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala, tied the knot with beau Samrat Dahal in a traditional ceremony held in Kathmandu.

The 41-year-old Nepalese beauty exchanged wedding vows with Dahal, 34, in a private function at the Gokarna Forest Resort, 10kms east of the capital, attended by family close friends only.
Dressed in a yellow saree, Manisha garlanded Samrat and exchanged wedding rings as priests recited Vedic mantras in the presence of her father Prakash Koirala and mother Sushma.
Besides her family members, close relatives and friends, those attending the function were Bollywood actress Suman Rajnathan, Manisha's co-star in her debut film Saudagar Vivek Mushram and Govinda'a wife Sunita. Jackey Shroff and Govinda are also expected to attend the wedding reception to be held at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza on Sunday.
The celebration included traditional Nepali music Panchai Bazaa and a cultural dance. Nepali, Indian and continental dishes were served at the resort, sources said.
Spread over three days, the main ceremony will be held tomorrow when the bride will go to the groom's house after performing hour-long rituals as per the Hindu tradition.
Manisha's wedding countdown is on
But Bollywood won't have a big presence at the marriage on June 18
There are just three days to go for Manisha Koirala's wedding to businessman Samrat Dahal, and looks like it is going to be an event low on B'wood biggies. Apparently, a lot of Manisha's high-profile T'town buddies won't be attending as they are worried about the security situation in Nepal. It seems actress Deepti Naval, who directed Manisha in her movie 'Do Paise Ki Dhoop Char Anne Ki Baarish' is among the few stars who will be at the wedding.
Manisha, who is 40, will be marrying Samrat (who is seven years younger than her), at a traditional ceremony to be held at a famous resort in eastern Kathmandu on June 18. The two will then leave for their honeymoon, and host a reception party in Nepal once they return. Manisha is thought to have planned a reception in Mumbai for her B'wood friends earlier, but that didn't work out.
Is Manisha Koirala getting married?
It seems she is finally tying the knot with a Nepali businessman
The 40-year-old actress, the country's most eligible single woman, will finally say "I do" to Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal with the wedding set for June 19.
"Mutual acquaintances told me about a week ago that Manisha Koirala was getting married in Nepal," said Nepali film director Dipendra Khanal, whose upcoming release ‘Dharma’ will mark the return of the actress to the Nepali film industry nearly two decades after she left Nepal to storm Bollywood.
Manisha, presently shooting in Kerala for a Telugu film, will return to Kathmandu on Friday (April 9), Khanal told IANS.
She was in Nepal last month to attend the last rites of her grand-uncle Girija Prasad Koirala. At a press conference afterwards, she said the patriarch of Nepal's politics and five-time prime minister had lamented to her that nobody loved him; people flocked to him only to get something out of him.
She was asked about her wedding plans but she parried the questions without divulging her new romance.
The would-be bridegroom was reportedly educated in the US and is a businessman. While not much is known about him, his father Surendra Dahal made his fortune in the leather industry.
The wedding will be a three-day extravaganza that is expected to see Mumbai's stars descend on Kathmandu.
Manisha had a minor fling with politics in 2005 when she supported King Gyanendra's bid to seize power with an army-backed coup.
However, the move backfired and led to the abolition of monarchy in Nepal, once the world's only Hindu kingdom.
It is being speculated that Manisha could enter politics finally. Her aunt Sujata Koirala is the deputy prime minister of Nepal while two of her uncles are MPs.
Her father Prakash Koirala was a minister in King Gyanendra's cabinet but was expelled by his Nepali Congress party that led the pro-democracy movement against the king.
Manisha acted in just one film in Nepal, ‘Pheri Bhetaula’ (We will meet again), that was, however, never released. She got her big break from modelling in Nepal when she was cast by Bollywood director Subhash Ghai in ‘Saudagar’ and then went on to act in such acclaimed films as Mani Ratnam's ‘Dil Se’ and ‘Mumbai’, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ‘Khamoshi’ and Vidhu Vinod Chopra's ‘1942: A Love Story’.
Close-up horrors
Whatever has happened to the once-gorgeous Manisha Koirala? She is looking shockingly gaunt. Result of crash dieting? We no like, Manya.
Kat has a bump....Not of the nice kind. She has a big bump on her forehead, the kind that you get when you walk into a glass door, which you don't notice because you are too busy talking on the phone.
Bollywood celebrities at Cannes 2009
Yeh kaun?
Arjun Rampal came to Cannes. But there was no red carpet entry or anything. In fact, no one even knew the actor was here. He slipped in town, stayed at Vikram Chatwal's luxury yacht, partied, and went back home.

Sporty formal!
The fashion police were ready to cuff Ashok Amritraj, who, incidentally, at a Cannes soiree was bonding with the director mentioned below.
Anyhow he had more grave issues to tackle the biggest being the unbranded keds with his suit and tie!! Ashok, the ball's no longer in your court, so what's with the shoes?
PLUS... Congratulations are in order for Amritraj's 100th film celebration at Cannes. We are assuming the lot incorporates the soft porn sagas created by Jag Mundra and the ilk.

Giving Manya some lip
Social bitches spotted Manisha Koirala at the India Pavilion and could not help but notice her unwaxed upper lip. Perhaps she didn't have the time to visit a beauty salon what with her hectic partying on Vikram Chatwal's yacht⦠it had all of six people on it. Including Manya and her friend and business partner Deepti Naval. They were literally floating. Like Kites.

Karan Johar, thanks to a massive jet lag, bagging a quick snooze during the Ang Lee film. Thankfully, the reviews the next day justified the nap.

Bad yaadein
Ageing directors suffering a semi-annual life crisis are not uncommon in B-Town. One such (married, of course) made a 'show' of himself at a Cannes soiree getting his derriere lovingly massaged by a buxom blonde who proclaimed to be a 'fund manager' from the UK. As the girlie did her job dutifully, the filmmakers stared into heaven sighing, "God bless you, God bless you." Time to become an atheist?

Manisha spotted at Cannes
After being out of the limelight for a long, long time, Bollywood starlet Manisha Koirala has been spotted at Cannes!

Oscar-nominated director Ashvin Kumar, who is now present at Cannes for the screening of his first feature film The Forest, met the actress at the post screening party of Bauli.
Ashvin’s parents, Shashi and Ritu Kumar were with him to catch up on the screening. Ashvin’s family walked the red carpet joined by Freida Pinto. Some of the outfits that graced Freida in the Oscar-winning movie, Slumdog Millionaire, are from the Ritu Kumar Label line.
The Cannes festival that began on 13 May this year had an extremely good start for our Indian director. The screening of Ashvin Kumar’s film The Forest had a phenomenal response, the film being already sold in seven territories, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Middle East, Vietnam, Thailand, Greece and Brazil. The second screening of the film was done on May 17, Sunday.
