Karisma's dental woes

We caught up with Karisma Kapur earlier this week and guess what we learnt about her? Her dental fears!

She was extremely scared of going to the dentist as a child and would always want to squirm out of the visit. Lolo, as she is popularly known, confessed all this and more during her visit to a dental camp in the capital.Talking about her own pearlies, Karisma said, "I was always scared of visiting the dentist, but over time realised how important it is." But when questioned on actors with the most beautiful smile in Bollywood, Lolo didn't even think for a second before giving sister Kareena Kapoor the numero uno spot. However, she chose not to name any male actor for the same category.

Bebo, Saif go house hunting!

It’s got nothing to do with the sky-high prices of real estate in Bandra west. But, the top storey flats in the upcoming apartment opposite the landmark building Fortune Heights is selling at more of a premium than penthouses elsewhere in the area.

The reason? Fortune Heights is where Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan live. They have an apartment on the 10th floor. And Saif’s production house has its office on the second. Now the wily builder of the building across is rumoured to be looking at a “good price” for the flats that overlook Bollywood’s most celebrated couple’s living room!

When Saif bought the penthouse, it was one of the most coveted properties in the area. The actor, who lived in Versova, took a lot of time selecting this apartment. He also bought a huge office on the second floor. Then, Kareena moved in. However, as is the case in every bylane of Mumbai, suddenly there is another tall building across the road. And Saif and Kareena are seriously house-hunting again.

Bebo, who didn’t know too many details of the opposite building, said, “Saif and I love our current home. It has a very good vibe. But, yes, I can see other buildings have suddenly cropped up. And at some point our privacy may be compromised. So we are looking at buying a bungalow in and around Bandra. It’s hard to find the kind of home that Saif has in mind. He wants a very English-styled villa!” If they don’t find that, the next best thing to do would be to buy the top storey flats in the building opposite!

Babita urged Karishma, Sanjay to patch up

The buzz in the industry is that Karishma Kapur's mom Babita is the reason the Dil To Pagal Hai actress and her husband Sanjay have mended their relationship. After Karishma had her second child Kiaan, Babita came to stay with her for a few months. Babita was to look after the children (Kiaan and Karishma's first child, Samaira) so Karishma can get some much-needed rest. That's when Babita realized how much time her daughter and son-in-law spend away from each other.

She called up Sanjay and insisted he talk out his issues. Next, she insisted Sanjay and Karishma talk about what's troubling them. The two had a long conversation which cleared up the air between them. Sanjay is now spending more time at home with Karishma. The family is now planning a vacation.

Kareena to skip Karisma's birthday due to Agent Vinod

Kareena KapoorFrantic efforts are on to accommodate Karisma Kapoor's birthday into her sister Kareena's choc-a-clock schedule. But it seems unlikely that the busy actress would be able to join her Didi for her birthday on June 25.

Ironically, it is Saif who seems more concerned about missing Karisma's birthday.

Says a source, "Saif gets along like a house on fire with Karisma and her husband Sanjay. The two guys often share a lot of outdoor fun activities together. Saif doesn't want that he and Kareena should miss her sister's birthday this year."

Saif's concern and guilt for the sisters not being together on that very special day is heightened by the fact that Kareena would be shooting for his film Agent Vinod in Morocco on Karisma's birthday.

Kareena rules out that possibility of Karisma flying down to Morocco "How can my sister fly down to Morocco? No, she'll be in Mumbai with her baby. She has just had a baby boy who's not even four months old. She can't leave the city."

Interestingly, Kareena seems to handle her absence from this important day in her sister with much pragmatism and common sense. "How can I be in Mumbai? I'll be shooting in Tangiers in Morocco on my sister's birthday. Work always comes first in our family. So there would be no birthday plans with my sister this year."

The over-worked sister says she won't even have time to buy anything for Karisma this year. "There's no time to breathe. Forget buying anything. I don't know whether I'm coming or going," sighs Kareena.

Kareena has never missed any of her sister's birthdays. In recent years Kareena had quite often gone to join Karisma in Delhi when the elder sister was staying in the Capital with her husband.

This time Kareena is trying to focus on Saif's project rather than on Karisma's birthday. "I looooove the title Agent Vinod. It's the coolest. We've already started shooting for it. We leave for Tangiers in Morocco on June 22 for twenty days."

Karisma doesn't know how to cook

Pregnant actress hoping to work again

Karisma Kapoor, a self-confessed foodie who is expecting her second child, confesses that she doesn't know how to cook.

"I don't know how to cook. I just know how to eat everything, as I love food. I can only make tea, coffee and omelettes," Karisma told IANS.

The actress has a four-year-old daughter with businessman husband Sanjay Kapur and says she loves good food but she is one of those actresses who has always flaunted a svelte figure.

Asked if she was into dieting, the 35-year-old said: "I am not into exhaustive drastic dieting or anything."

The actress, who took a sabbatical from the big screen after her wedding in 2003, hopes to have a second innings in the film world in future.

"I am hoping to get back to work and reach out to audiences," she said.

Karisma Kapoor is not a big fan of yoga

Pregnant actress prefers gym and walking

Her younger sister Kareena is known for her yoga obsession, but actress Karisma Kapoor, who is a mother of one and expecting a second, says she prefers the "gym and a walk" unlike her sibling.

"Kareena is the yoga endorser (of our family). She gets after us to do yoga. But I am not so much into yoga as she is. She has really taken to it and it's a great form of exercise but I prefer the gym," Karisma told IANS.

"I live a healthy lifestyle. I eat well, but I exercise and do everything in moderation. I go to the gym or for a walk and that's it for me," she added.

Asked about her comments on Kareena's much-hyped size-zero figure, the 35-year-old asserted: "I don't think there's any size zero. I genuinely feel that Kareena just lost all her baby fat. She made herself fit and got the cuts that her body has. She just worked at getting that and has been able to bring that out."

Prasoon Joshi: My best wishes to Lataji on her birthday. I feel so fortunate that my entry in Bollywood was marked by a song sung by her. I wrote my first song for her, which was the title track of "Lajja". It was totally a dream come true. Then luck again favoured me when I wrote Luka chhupi for her in the film Rang De Basanti. I feel extremely humbled to write songs for someone as great as her.

Kunal Kohli: What can one say about a living legend like Lataji and who am I to say something? I don't think a word has been created to describe her and her contribution to Hindi film music. My best wishes to her for a long and healthy life.

Mohit Chauhan: I give my heartiest congratulations to the melody queen. I wish more and more years added to her life. Since childhood I have been listening to her songs and she is still my favourite singer.

Sunidhi Chauhan: Words can't express what I feel about her. I only wish that she lives for ever and ever.

Kailash Kher: Whatever she has achieved till now and the way she sings even till today is just miraculous. A normal person can't do that. I won't call her just a singer; she is music to me. She is a blessing to the nation and all Indians should hope and pray for her long life and good health for many years to come. I wish her a long and healthy life.

Manoj Bajpai: May she live and sing for another 1,000 years. I doubt we will ever have another Lataji. Her voice is a miracle of god. A very happy birthday to her.

Video: Is Karisma pregnant?

Karisma Kapoor refuses to comment on her pregnancy reports saying it's a very personal matter.

Karisma Kapoor is pregnant

According to sources close to the family, Karisma Kapoor is having her second child. The actress, who is married to the Delhi businessman Sanjay Kapur already has a daughter Samaira, who is four. Lolo's younger sister Kareena is thrilled with the idea of becoming an aunt for the second time.

Says a source, "The actress was spotted with a baby bump at a suburban seven-star hotel in Bandra on Wednesday afternoon. Karisma was last seen at events a few weeks ago (she was last seen at Neetu Kapoor's mom's chautha) and has since then been keeping a low profile.”

“She is now in her first trimester. This is the happiest phase in her life. Samaira is growing up, her marriage (which ran into troubled waters a few years back) is in a happy place now and she is also keeping herself busy with endorsements. Sanjay and she feel that it was a good time to have another baby."

The source adds that sister Kareena is over the moon about Karisma's pregnancy. "Bebo loves children and dotes on her niece Samaira. She organises her birthday parties and always picks up gifts for her from abroad. She is also very close to her sister and can't wait to hold Lolo's second baby in her arms."

When asked about the sister's happy news, Kareena Kapoor says, "Who told you?" but refused to say anything after that. Karisma's father, Randhir Kapoor, who is currently in Russia, says, "I have no idea if Lolo is expecting or not. No one has told me as yet. I would be very happy if she is expecting."

Karisma Kapur: Miss Popular

Karisma Kapur may have taken a break from movies, but the actress is seen as a judge on a reality show.

We hear that the contestants and crew are pretty impressed with the actress. A source from the sets says, “She’s doesn’t throw any tantrums or make any demands. The crew is very comfortable around her. She may not be on back-slapping terms with the contestants, but she isn’t overtly-critical either, and all contestants like that.” Well looks like this lovely actress has people dancing to her tunes everywhere she goes.

Bollywood Buzz Wishes Karisma Kapoor a very happy Birthday!

Coming from a family deeply entrenched in films it was a natural choice that Karisma would one day enter the world of cinema herself. Making her film debut in 1991, Karisma went on to become one of the most popular actresses of her generation. During her career, she has been part of many commercially and critically successful films, Raja Hindustani being the most notable of them, as it was her biggest commercial success, and won Karisma her first Filmfare Best Actress Award. Later she surprised critics and audiences with her performances in art films such as Fiza in 2000 and Zubeidaa in 2001, for which she earned a Best Actress and Best Actress (Critics) awards at the Filmfare ceremony. Since then, she has worked in several films though most of them performed poorly at the box office. In 2003, Kapoor took a break from cinema.

It was at this point that Karisma tied the knot with industrialist Sanjay Kapur, CEO of Sixt India, in an hour long Sikh wedding ceremony. So today we at Bollywood Buzz celebrate this true 'Karisma' of Bollywood in wishing her a very happy birthday. You too can send in your wishes by posting them in below.
