Aishwarya's Beyonce moment

Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar's 70s movie 'Action Replayy' has them going retro, but we hear that Ash will also be doing a Beyonce in one of the songs. It seems that in the number 'Zor Ka Jhatka' Ash is wearing a super-short golden dress with sequins on it - and it's a look that's influenced by Beyonce, and very similar to her music video Upgrade.

Though apparently Ash wasn't quite as confident as Beyonce in the little golden dress. It seems the former Miss World was so self-conscious that she didn't even let anyone take any full-length pictures of her on the sets.

But Ash did her homework alright for the song - she watched lots of the singer's videos. Now did she move just as bootyliciously as Beyonce too? We'll be waiting to find out!

Aishwarya, Akshay in Manali for Action Replay

Fans of Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan thronged the airport in Manali to get a glimpse of the beauty who is here to shoot for her upcoming film Action Replayy.

Accompanied by her mother, Aishwarya drove straight to the hotel Holiday Inn, where she would stay for a week while shooting the film.

While Akshay Kumar, who is paired opposite the former Miss World will arrive later, her other co-stars Rajpal Yadav and Neha Dhupia flew in yesterday.

Action Replayy is a big budget period drama where both Aishwarya and Akshay sport retro looks from the 70's and 80's.

Vipul Shah, the director of the movie had to cancel the shooting of film in Manali in June earlier due to the untimely snowfall in the hill town.

According to sources, Aishwarya and Akshay will shoot a retro-themed song and will stay for another four-five days.

Meanwhile, the entire unit remained busy in shooting indoors at hotel Holiday Inn and will go for outdoor shooting at Dobhi, 14 km from Wednesday (July 14).

They’ll perform a song paying tribute to Bollywood couples of the 70s in ‘Action Replayy’

Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar’s movie ‘Action Replayy’ has a time-travel theme, and looks like director Vipul Shah is determined to add more and more elements from the 70s to it.

First there was the ‘Saturday Night Fever’ inspired song, where Ash and Akki will be moving a la John Travolta. And now it seems that the two will also perform a song paying tribute to famous Bollywood couples from the 70s. Think Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Shashi Kapoor and Parveen, and Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz.

The song is composed by Pritam Chakraborty and the lyrics are "Nakhre nakhre nakhre, nakhre hain naatak re, nakhre nakhre nakhre tu peeche hi rakh re."

Apparently, the song will be in the typical 70s style, and have a mischievous tone to it. Well, it’s got Aishwarya paying tribute to her in-laws, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. Now if only she were shooting with hubby Abhishek Bachchan, the tribute would have been complete!

After Pa, it’s now Dughter-in-Law Ash

Elaborate makeover to turn Aishwarya into old lady

Pa Amitabh Bachchan showed the way to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

After his makeover for Balki’s “Paa”, which portrays him as the 13-year-old Auro suffering from progeria, received acclaim, Ash now will be following in his footsteps.

In her forthcoming film Vipul Shah’s “Action replay”, Ash will go through an equally elaborate makeover to look like an old lady for some scenes.

Even Ash is being given her look by famous Hollywood makeup artists and like Big B, even she has to spend approximately 4-5 hours every day for the makeup.

For the look of an old lady, Ash had to take many sittings before her look could be finalised. While shooting too, Ash has to sit patiently for four to five hours every day.

Vipul Shah has praised Ash’s professionalism and said that she was very co-operative during the makeup and reached the sessions regularly.

Akshay has no plans to head to Hollywood

I'm happy doing my work here, he says

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who recently shared screen space with international stars Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh in "Kambakkht Ishq", says he has no plans of heading to Hollywood.

"Why go to Hollywood when Hollywood is coming to Bollywood? I'm happy doing my work here as of now," Akshay told IANS.

Now that "Kambakkht Ishq" has registered good profits at the box office, Akshay is looking forward to his other films that include "Blue", "De Dana Dan" and "Action Replay".

Ash perfects her dancing steps

Aishwarya Bachchan has wowed audiences the world over with her dancing abilities.

More recently, the actress won many more fans, as she left the cast and crew of Vipul Shah’s film Action Replay impressed with her moves. An insider revealed, “Ash, Akshay (Kumar) and Rannvijay were rehearsing for a song sequence. But while, Akshay and Rannvijay would struggle to get their steps right, Aishwarya would hardly take a minute-and-a-half to perfect even the most intricate steps.” This prompted everyone on the sets to refer to the sexy star as dedh minute wali. However, by the time they neared the song’s completion, Rannvijay had named Ash, dedh second wali. The source added, “And now the name has stuck on.” Well, little surprise then that Ash has the world dancing to her tunes.

Vipul rebukes Ash for latecoming!

After Aishwarya Rai repeatedly reported late to the sets of Action Replay, director Vipul Shah decided to teach her the importance of punctuality.

A source said, “Aishwarya would always come late to the sets. On days when she came on time, she would spend most of her time doing up her hair, make-up and clothes while everybody kept waiting for her. The entire schedule of the shoot would get disrupted.”

The unit is shooting with Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya at ND Studios, Karjat. “Vipul is extremely particular about shooting the scenes aesthetically. He was fed up of waiting for hours for Aishwarya. Surprisingly, he made his dismay very clear on the sets a few days ago,” said a source.

Ta l k i n g about the particular incident, the source said, “That day, Aishwarya came to the sets, changed into her costume, did her make-up and hair and was ready to shoot. After the entire process, which took her several hours, Vipul shot precisely for a minute before declaring pack-up. Aishwarya was aghast that Vipul had made her get ready only to shoot with her for a minute. She openly expressed her displeasure to which Vipul shot back, ‘Apne sets pe sab time par aate hain aur sab time par jaate hain.’ This was a clear indication of how irritated Vipul was.”

As expected, Vipul denied our story and said, “This is totally false. Aishwarya has an extraordinary look in the film. We always knew it would take time for her to get ready because of which we had planned the shoots accordingly. We have not had any delays because of her. In fact, she is working 15 hours every day for my film. She is extremely professional and I am delighted to be working with her.”

Busy boy Akshay Kumar

He returned from Singapore earlier this week but instead of enjoying the summer vacations with his family, Akshay has started work on Vipul Shah’s Action Replay in Karjat.

Says a source close to Akshay, “One would expect Akshay to take a break on his return from Singapore where he was shooting De Dhana Dhan but the dedicated, workaholic actor has started shooting for Vipul Shah’s Action Replay already, even as Aishwarya Rai is at the Cannes Film Festival. He is staying at Karjat because traveling to and fro all the time is inconvenient. The shooting will continue till mid-June. Ash will join them when she returns from Cannes. In June, he will be attending the IIFAs with his family as well. He will also finish his small commitments such as promo songs of De Dhana Dhan during that month.”

There was confusion regarding his arrest for the alleged ‘obscene’ act at the Lakme Fashion Week where his wife Twinkle unbuttoned his jeans at the Levi’s show. Some reports said that he was arrested, while some said he was not arrested even though he went to the police station. Our source clarifies, “Like any law abiding citizen, Akshay went to the police station and completed some formalities because that is what one has to do when a complaint is filed against them. Akshay didn’t do anything wrong so he didn’t pay a fine and was not arrested.”

Blue, Kambakkht Ishq and De Dhana Dhan are Akshay Kumar’s confirmed releases this year.
