Katz as a museum Barbie!

If London has its waxwork of Aishwarya Bachchan at Madame Tussauds, then New York is getting Katrina Kaif’s as Barbie Doll in Bloomingdale’s.

Yes, the stunning actress who hopes to make it to the No 1 slot in Bollywood this year, is happily trilling Aqua’s song I’m A Barbie Girl, In My Barbie World... these days. You remember she walked the ramp at the Mumbai Fashion Week in March as the Indian face of the celebrity doll, don’t you? Well, the gorgeous face and sexy body of Katz is being moulded into the world’s most popular doll for the Barbie Museum in NY.

“The customised Barbie being made for the American museum will be just like me,” confirmed the actress who will join those of the likes of international pop singers Beyonce Knowles and Diana Ross in the showcase. (Incidentally, Ash’s waxwork stands alongside others from Bollywood and India, including Pa Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Sachin Tendulkar.) “I’m thrilled! As a kid I used to play with Barbie dolls — which girl hasn’t? Almost every household has one. It’s every little girl’s dream companion,” said Katz.

It’s not true that Ash was first considered for this honour and then replaced by Katz. “It’s just a coincidence that I’m getting whatever she had earlier,” said the actress who is endorsing some brands made popular by Ash earlier. “She’s moved onto doing things which for her are even bigger, but that doesn’t mean I’ve replaced her.” The Barbie Doll concept came about after several designers were asked to compete by creating outfits for the doll, with the winning design being modelled at the fashion week by Katrina.

A lot of skin show is on the cards: Tusshar

Ever since Shah Rukh Khan revealed his six-pack abs and Aamir Khan displayed his beefed-up bod... there seems to be a new bug in the Bollywood air called the ‘work-out bug’.

And the latest actor to have been bitten by it is Tusshar Kapoor. The actor’s been been working on his way up to the six-pack-ab ladder since the past three months and is looking fitter than ever before. Tusshar, however, insists that gaining a six or eight-pack is not his aim. “I hate all those tags. What I have been trying for is to achieve and maintain a leaner and a fitter-looking body. But working out has now become such a passion for me that I even take my trainer for outdoor schedules,” says Tusshar.

Though not an impossible task, the real challenge for the actor was giving up his fondness for sweets. “That was tough,” he admitted. “People have a sweet tooth, I have a sweet jaw. So, to overcome that temptation was the hard part. An hour’s work-out everyday took care of the rest after the initial hurdles.” Incidentally, dad Jeetendra who’s always been one of the fittest actors in B-town, though a fitness freak, never fell prey to the muscle-packing brigade. “Yes, but now even he’s been inspired by me and we often exchange tips on working out. He’s always been my inspiration when it comes to healthy eating, but now I’m his inspiration for body-building,” smiles Tusshar.

The extra pounds are not the only thing that Tusshar has shed. The actor’s even ditched his boy-next-door image to reveal a wilder side of him. No more Mr Shy Guy, Tusshar confesses that his new bod has helped him gain enough confidence to shed his clothes on screen. “Yes, I definitely plan to make the most of my new physique and a lot of skin show is definitely on the cards,” laughs Tusshar, who has almost five films releasing this year including Run Bhola Run, remake of the Amol Paleker starrer Golmaal, Life Partner, an untitled Neeraj Vohra film, and Golmaal 3. “I think once you are confident about your body, you automatically shed inhibitions,” he adds.

In fact, it was this new-found confidence that even encouraged him to take to the ramp for the first time this year. “Over the years, I’d earned a sweet-boy image and I was shy to break it. Also being new then, I was trying to play it safe. But now, I am coming into my own and ready to flaunt the real me,” says the actor. “I now hope to be ‘seen’ more and plan to make up for not being heard...” he laughs referring to the mute character he plays in the hit Golmaal series.

Salman Khan's meaningful tips for Kareena

It was none other than Salman Khan who gave Kareena Kapoor a piece of advice regarding her weight.

Kareena and sister Karisma were the celebrity contestants on the opening episode of Salmana’s TV show ‘10 Ka Dum’ on Saturday (May 30) night.

Salman was at his humorous best and kept joking with both the sisters.

Salman, who has taken Aamir Khan’s advice and quit drinking, passed it on to Kareena, who has lost a lot of weight in the recent past and now flaunts an eye-popping body.

Salman told Kareena to be careful and not lose too much weight, as men prefer women with some flesh. He also said that losing too much weight affects the face and one stops looking attractive. Finally he passed a light hearted statement warning Kareena not to stand in front of the fan or she might just fly away.

It was then Karisma’s turn. However, Salman complimented Karisma for her perfect figure and also spoke about the flops the two had together!

Bipasha's seven attempts to dub

While dubbing for Sanjay Gupta’s “Pankh” Bipasha ended up visiting the Aradhna Studio 6 times, and even then she could not finish the work.

It seemed the studio was jinxed as whenever Bipasha went there to dub she always had a sore throat and couldn’t record.

After this happened around 6 times in a row, dubbing was shifted to a new studio and everything went on smoothly. So finally, Bipasha was able to dub on the 7th visit to a studio.

Bipasha has a very challenging role in “Pankh” in which she plays the alter-ego of a boy who suffers an identity crisis after being forced by her mother to act as a girl in the film industry.
